A flawlessly applied eyeliner can create a mesmerizing glance and since this makeup style is uber-popular due to its timeless elegance and can easily be shaped to match the eye shape, achieving fabulous looking eyes using makeup will now be a breeze. There are numerous types to experiment with depending on what works for you, so give eyeliner pens/gels a try to find which one works best in your hands. For flawless results, apply a primer on the eyelid (especially if you have oily eyelids) as this will even out the skin tone providing a perfect base for the color you're about to apply.

Go simple and daytime-chic with an 'au naturel' eyeliner style by creating a soft and thin line as close to the eyelashes as you can. If you want to achieve a sexy, vintage inspired look, opt for a gorgeous cat eyeliner style by extending the line upwards as soon as you reach the outer corner of the eye.
If you're all about statement, dramatic makeup styles, opt for a thick winged eyeliner that goes gradually from thin to thick starting from the inner corner towards the outer corner of the eye. Use waterproof eyeliner if you have droopy and/or eyelids to ensure your eyeliner stays fabulous from day to evening without any touch-ups!

vampy_red_lips

If you're looking to make an impact with your makeup this fall, opt for a dimensional red lip effect. This year, matte is the way to go, so get the most amazing vampy red lips by layering different hues as this technique can lead to stunning results as Lora Arellano proves in her tutorial.

To achieve this particular look, you'll need a loose powder to provide, NARS's Dragon Girl lipstick pencil, MAC's Ruby Woo matte lipstick and MAC's Nightmoth and Cherry lip pencils. You can however achieve your own signature color by layering your favorite lip color shades for the ombre lip color effect. Start by applying the loose powder onto the lips and continue by filling in the lips using the NARS lipstick pencil. Next, apply MAC's Ruby Woo matte lipstick and then use Cherry lip liner over the lipstick and plump up your lips. Finish the look using Nightmoth (a fab plum hue) lip pencil applied on the outer corners of the lips. Blot to blend in the color and achieve a gorgeous transition from the fab deep rich red-plum to right red-pink pigments from the center of the lips and voila! you've created a unique vampy red lip effect.

How To Get The Cat Eyes

How-To-Get-The-Cat-Eyes

From catwalk to celebrities, from Taylor Swift to Angelina Jolie, they all wear and love the cat eye makeup. It’s super easy to do and the result is super glam and chic.

The cat eye makeup can be done two ways: you can opt for lighter one for daytime and transform it to a more intense one for night.

Here is how to make a super sexy cat eye makeup.

Step 1: Choose your liner.

To have a successful result you need to have to use a good liner that will easily glide over your lashline. The most common eyeliners for cat eyes are the liquid ones but the creamy pencils are good as well. If you think you are really steady on your hands you can even try an angled brush and a pot of cream liner.

Step 2: Pick a shape.

The most common way to do it is by following the natural curve of your eyes, but if you have downturned eyes you will need to fake it a little. So instead of following the curve of the top lid, imagine how the bottom lid would extend upwards and draw that line.

If you are going for a daytime eye cat makeup all you need is a thin shape and job done. But if you want a night eye cat makeup just extend the line and make it thicker. You can also add liner underneath your eye and some color or shimmery shadow on top of everything.

Step 3: Start lining.

For an easy way you can start with the brush or pencil resting on your lashes in the inner corner of the eye. Gently drag it across, letting the line become slightly thicker as you go, until you get to the end of your lashes. Then stop.

Then, start the tail in the opposite direction, with the tip of the brush facing your temple, and draw until you connect the two lines. Either leave the cat eye thin and pointy or thicken it up by adding more layers of liner to the shape.

Step 4: Make it even

If you are a beginner, don’t get scared if you make any mistakes. It happens to the best of us! In case of mistakes, use a Q-tip dipped in makeup remover to get rid of any stray marks or feathering.

Step 5: Add a touch of fake lashes.

If you want a more dramatic effect and a few coats of black mascara doesn’t do the trick try some false lashes. Apply them along your lashline from the inside out, but separate them from your real lashes at the outer corners.

Now that you’ve managed to do you cat eye makeup enjoy the rest of your fabulous day.

40+ Beauty Tips, Look Years Younger with Makeup

40+-Beauty-Tips

Look years longer with our over 40 makeup tips! It's time to update your beauty routine and try new, innovative cosmetic formulas to create youthful and stunning makeup looks.

Makeup can be tricky. If you're stuck with the same makeup routine you've done for years, it can be as aging as an out-of-style wardrobe. Yet, while there are many trends in makeup, the best bet is to leave the crazy colors to the teens and create a naturally stunning look. But that doesn't have to mean makeup-free. In fact, certain makeup tips can make your face look years younger without having to resort to expensive skin-care products or extensive – and painful – anti-aging plastic surgery. Here's how to use your cosmetics to create a younger look:

Prepare your skin

Before you apply a drop of makeup, be sure your skin is exfoliated once or twice a week. Sloughing away dead skin cells will actually allow your makeup to absorb better into your skin, rather than “sitting” on the skin, which can create a “cakey” look. Be sure to moisturize your skin and ensure you have SPF protection either in your moisturizer or foundation.

A great foundation

Apply a pore-minimizing primer. You can find this in powder or liquid form, and it's one of the newest ways to really create a flawless canvas for your makeup. A new type of product known as BB creams actually combine a primer, moisture, anti-aging ingredients and a bit of color for coverage. Or you can opt for a lightweight foam-like foundation or even a spray foundation that you apply with a sponge. With a primer, you don't need a heavy foundation.

Conceal your flaws

If you have blemishes, redness, age spots or under-eye circles, you can find a concealer that will even out your color. Pastel green or yellow concealers work to neutralize redness in the skin, like acne, scars, rosacea or even birthmarks. Light pink and peach concealers are effective in covering blue or gray tones under the eyes.

Perk up cheeks

Choose a blush that lightly warms your cheeks and apply it to the round apples of your cheeks. Use a darker bronzer or contouring color that is two shades darker than your blush and apply it below your cheek bones. This will make your cheek bones look more “lifted” while de-emphasizing the fullness of your lower cheeks.

Add some highlights

Adding a light-colored highlighting product will draw attention to wherever you apply it. Go for the area under your eyebrows, in the corner of your eyes, along the bridge of your nose and across the tops of your cheeks. For a sexy look, add a bit of highlighter to the “cupid's bow” – the area just above the center of your top lip. You can find highlighting products with a little sheen or sparkle for special occasions. Otherwise, a concealer in a skin tone that's a shade or two lighter than your complexion works great.

Open your eyes

To make your eyes look bigger, avoid dark, drastic eye liner. Instead you can use a bit of a dark shadow to make a smokey liner effect at the edges of your lashes. Apply two to three layers of glossy black mascara to give your eyes a youthful, sexy fringe.

Seal the lips

You can line your lips with a color that matches your lip color, but don't vary from that, or your create an aged look. Keep your lip color a few shades darker than your natural lips and finish with a bit of gloss in the center of your upper and lower lips.

Natural Makeup Tips

Natural-Makeup-Tips

Have a nosey at these simple natural makeup tips, avoid the caked-on face, have fun and get ready to look glowing and absolutely lovely in no time!

Getting a flawless, natural-looking makeup can be a rather tricky business. Anyway, if you are trying to avoid the not-so-cool and totally unaesthetic caked-on face, you should definitely try a clean and super-fresh look. Well, in order to achieve the effortless aspect, just take a peek at these easy natural makeup tips! This way, with only a few tricks you'll be able to obtain the minimalist and seriously lovely effect in no time. Therefore, if you're ready, let's start and have some fun!
  • One essential step whenever wanting to obtain an effortless, au naturel makeup is to prepare your face. Cleansing and moisturizing the skin is crucial. So, make sure you don't skip it! The result strongly depends on this! Choose the right moisturizer for your skin type in order to get a silk, smooth complexion.
  • Okay you girls, so we all face skin imperfections! Still, it seems that there are also a few blessed among us having an almost flawless complexion. If you enter into this category, you can easily skip this step. Concealer and foundation. Yes, if you have no skin issues to camouflage, you can simply apply some tinted moisturizer. It will even and refresh you skin!

Natural-Makeup-Tips

  • On the other hand, those struggling with different problems should use a concealer in order to cover certain flaws. Still, in this case too, the 'less is more' rule totally works. Under these circumstances, apply it only on blemishes, around the nostrils and under the eyes.
  • Oh how we love foundation! It is the ultimate savior in times of complexion crisis. Nevertheless, don't forget that too much or the wrong shade can ruin everything. Well, who loves orange faces? Or, even worse, a mask effect? Therefore, pay attention to the color and texture and apply it perfectly so you avoid all visible lines. Use a sponge!
  • For a natural look, it is not necessary to apply foundation on the entire face but only on the areas with issues. That's why we have to be very careful when choosing the color. Also, keep in mind that natural skin is not matte, therefore it is important to use a creamy or liquid product.
  • For a liquid formula foundation you can use two dome-shaped brushes. Use the first one to apply the product and the second one to remove the excess.
  • Natural-looking blushing looks lovely and extremely sexy. Therefore, invest in a good powdered bronzer and apply it on the forehead, under the cheekbones and under the jaw. Oh-so-flirty! You can also use a creamy blush and apply it on the apples of the cheeks using just your fingers. A sheer creamy blush can totally do the trick!
  • Next on the list are your eyes. First of all, make sure your eyebrows are naturally groomed. You don't need an eyeliner, just a mascara and you can even curl your lashes. Well, if you need to define your eyes, choose a liner in earthy tones, browns or grays.
  • As a final step, apply a lip balm or a gloss close to your natural skin-tone. You could also choose light pink or beige or even something a little bit darker than your skin.

Permanent Makeup Pros and Cons

Permanent-Makeup-Pros-and-Cons

Women have always been seeking for perfection and it seems that this need for perfection has led to the development of permanent makeup. If you're thinking about accentuating your features using this method take a peek at the pros and cons of permanent makeup and find out if this technique is for you!

People have been obsessing over makeup and its instant beauty boosting powers and since it's become basically a trend to conceal the flaws and enhance the features that make you feel fabulous, the need for new and innovative methods to apply makeup has lead to the development of permanent makeup. This type of cosmetic procedure involves the use of a tattoo gun (similar to the one used for regular tattooing) to inject an ink into the skin to mimic the appearance on makeup. Just like with any cosmetic procedure, there are pros and cons to permanent makeup and because, as its name suggests, the effects are permanent, reflecting on whether the procedure is a match for you is of high importance.

Although permanent tattooing has been in practice for years, its only recently that this technique has been perfected to give impeccable results using FDA approved pigments and innovative application techniques, but that doesn't mean that there are only benefits that go along with this type of cosmetic procedure. This type of makeup aims to enhance, define and even slightly modify the look of the facial features and targets the eyebrows, the lips and the eyes, so check out the pros and cons of permanent tattoos applied on each specific are to determine if this is the perfect match for you:

Permanent-Makeup-Pros-and-Cons

Permanent Eyeliner

This type of makeup is quite popular among those who love well defined eyes as the technique consist in applying the desired pigment under the skin, just like an eyeliner near the lash line. The line can be created to suit the eye shape, it can be thicker or subtle depending on personal preference and the pigment can be adapted to suit your needs. The pros of having a permanent eyeliner or micropigmentation are well defined eyes day and night, no smudging, always looking like you've just applied makeup.
The cons are depigmentation, as the lifespan of your permanent eye makeup differs from one person to another being affected also by the aftercare process, uneven effect (if the permanent makeup professional is inexperienced), the need to redo the permanent eyeliner after a few years as the color will eventually fade, bruising of the skin around the eyes if you're sensitive.

Permanent Lip Makeup

Full, luscious lips have always been a symbol of seductiveness and beauty, but unfortunately not all women have been blessed with plum lips. Because of this various techniques such as applying lip lines and colored lipsticks slightly over the edge of the lips, have been used by women to get more voluminous lips. However, because these results are only temporary, the need for a more permanent approach has been high and thus permanent lip makeup has been developed. This technique involves the tattooing of the outline of the lips to create a natural yet permanent full lips effect, using a pigment similar to the lip. The pros when it comes to this technique are: full lips without any injections such as collagen, permanent results, the colors looses its intensity after the lips heal.
The cons of permanent lip tattooing are: the possibility of ending up with the wrong color, a much darker color which creates an unnatural, unflattering look, uneven results (if the permanent makeup professional is inexperienced), pain during the tattooing process, the possibility of an outbreak if you have the herpes simplex virus.

Permanent-Makeup-Pros-and-Cons

Permanent Eyebrows

This type of tattoo has been created first for those suffering from alopecia or those having undergone chemotherapy, but nowadays sculpting and defining the eyebrows has become super popular among women who still have intact eyebrows. There are various techniques, the most recent and most natural being the stokes technique which mimics the hairs of the eyebrows, but you can also choose a full tattooed or a powdery-finish texture; it all depends on the result you're seeking. The pros of permanent eyebrows are fab, perfectly symmetrical eyebrows that are sculpted to suit your needs and personal preference, eyebrows colored in the hue of choice, from black to light brown, reduction of the time used to define the eyebrows using various makeup products. The cons are depigmentation, permanent effects in case of unevenness, changing styles in eyebrow shapes, keloids formation, painful tattooing process.

When considering having permanent makeup done make sure you choose an experienced permanent makeup professional certified by the Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals. Have him/her show you pictures on his/her work. Choose a salon that works with sterile environment with FDA approved products as because the skin is being pierced by the needles that introduce the pigment under the skin you're exposing yourself to various diseases including AIDS, HIV and Hepatitis C. Make sure the permanent makeup professional explains to you all the risks involved and that you are clear about the shape and color that you want your permanent tattoo to feature.

For this make up style, keep the rest on your face as natural as possible and no mascara could be more perfect.

Orange eye shadow

Orange is something you expect to see on the lips, not necessarily on the eyes. But in spring/summer 2011, celebrities bring this amazing look to red-carpets, from warm autumnal orange eye shadow shade to acid orange mixed with a bit pink, designers made orange eye makeup the hottest color trend this year.

You can pair it with a purple liner or a bright amethyst eye shadow. Go easy with the lip and cheekbones color as color that is too strong will compete and complicate the look. Orange on the eyes is simply hot by itself. Remember to wear this look with an extra coat of mascara.

It seems that the smokey eye makeup will never loose its beauty and it’s no surprise why.The only thing here that changes in fall/ winter fashion show about smokey eyes is the eye shadow shade. One of the most favorite color options this season is the burnt orange hues which are flattering on all skin tones. Another is blue of fuchsia but it is a bit trickier to apply because it can bring out blue undertones in fair skin.

Bright eye make up with neon lights

Choosing to add a great amount of attention towards the eyes can be a great option especially during the evening. Adding bold eye shadow colors such as orange, pink, green, blue, can definitely help you enhance your gorgeous look.

Apply a black eyeliner close to your upper lash line and coat your eyelashes with a thick black mascara. You can leave your lips bare or enhance the lips as well using a red colored lipstick. And now you look colorful – wonderful.

Makeup Mistakes Women Often Make

Looking fabulous has always been a target for women but without the proper steps using makeup can actually come in your disadvantage. To make sure
you're looking fabulous check out the most common makeup mistakes so you can avoid them from the get-go!

The fact that makeup any girl's best friend is old news but unless you apply the makeup properly you're not going to get the result you're looking for, so basically if you're making mistakes makeup can actually turn on you and become your worst enemy.

There are a myriad of brands out there which create high quality makeup products at a reasonable price so before you start doing your own makeup, make sure you purchase the right products for your skin type and needs. A sultry makeup look is always a look that suits the wearer perfectly so use the hues which do your skin tone justice as well as adapt the makeup to the event attended.

One mistake most women make when applying makeup is going too bold. Makeup is supposed to hide imperfections and underline the facial features not make you look like you're wearing a mask. You don't have to put on “tons” of makeup to look fabulous, you just have to put on just enough to make your look natural.

Using the wrong foundation hue is one of the most common makeup mistakes women make. Foundation isn't supposed to give your skin a bit of a tan, it's supposed to create a perfect, smooth complexion and cover-up any imperfections. This is why you should always use a foundation which blend-in with your skin. Test the hue on your jawline before you purchase a foundation or ask for a sample which you can give a try at home. If you are used to tanning you can purchase one darker hue as well and mix it with your regular hue to create your own blend that will suit the hue of your complexion at that moment.

Applying foundation on chapped, flaky skin is by far the worst thing you can do as the result will be horrific. The foundation will blend-in with the skin and will help emphasize the flakes, not conceal them, meaning you'll look better off not wearing any makeup. To prevent this from happening make sure you exfoliate your skin every week and moisturize on a daily basis. Exfoliating facial scrubs will get rid of the dead skin cells covering your complexion, leaving your skin feeling smooth.

Making the lips super plump with the help of your lipliner can turn disastrous if you step further than the natural line of your lip. To get plump lisps experts say to line subtly, using a lip colored or the same lip liner hue of your lipstick, the outer line of your lips but without passing over it. Going over is like going overboard and the effect obtained will be very unnatural, unflattering and obvious.

Another unappealing result caused by improper makeup application is related to the eyebrows. Enhancing and even changing the shape of the eyebrows with the help of makeup is a common practice nowadays and a super helpful beauty trick as the eyebrows can absolutely transform your look, this is why it's essential to have them shaped by a professional. Because most women end-up with thin and “chipped” eyebrows, makeup has become a perfect solution, however applying it correctly is essential. The mistakes women usually make when it comes to reshaping or emphasizing their eyebrows are going for a hue which looks unnatural or extending the eyebrows more than necessary, creating a droopy-eye, sad look.

Make sure to learn the proper steps of makeup application and you'll definitely look breathtaking every single time!
